TheShatteredSoulThe Shattered SoulThe personal weapon of Malachai Veiderheist, The Shattered Soul is a warbat measuring 29" from tip to base of the hilt. The battery of the bat is a perfect hexagonal bar 22" in length with a flattened edge that could be used to stand the warbat upright. Parallel sides of the battery are 4" apart in diameter, for sides of approximately 2.3" in length. The bottom of the battery has a very slight gradient before giving way to the handle, a separate rod of stone sticking out of the base wrapped in faded orange leather, capped at the bottom by the same white stone of the battery. The leather wrap handle does also have a single tail extending from the base of the handle in traditional Gratzian style. The warbat itself is also bound to Malachai. Only he may lift it, and he may call it to his hands from anywhere it may be. ForgingThe legend of The Shattered Soul states that the nomadic warrior known as Veya Veiderheist carved the shape of the warbat with only his hands to break the stone. The exact location of its creation remains a mystery, but it is known that Veya Veiderheist carried it with him when first sacrificing to usher in the period of peace throughout Gratz. The Shattered Soul was given to Malachai by the Librarian at the age of 12 when the questions of his lineage were first asked. The relic had been kept within the Academy since its founding after the legendary Veya Veiderheist had first brought peace to the warring tribes almost 700 years previously. |
