TheRunickStar

The Runick Star ( for the physical manifestation of the star, see Vid'Avehn )

Although it has many shapes and purposes, the basic entity of the Runick Star is a source of creation. Burning brightly, the exact number of souls contained within the Runick Star's existence is not known, but is volumous enough to fully populate multiple planets without weakening it's source in the least.

The star itself is sentient. Capable of witnessing events over great distances, it sensed life in the far corners of it's universe. Growing bored by simply watching the life of other creation, the Runick Star turned it's energy in upon itself. Cooling the very edges of it's burning surface, it formed a crust several miles thick. With random bursts of energy, it forged mountain ranges and chasms before allowing water to spring to the surface, creating oceans. With no desire to move from the location it had known for all existence, it forged a pair of satellites from it's energy, firing them from it's surface to create a sun and moon.

The star's next act of creation was to vent souls into the surface it had created, sprouting life in forms it had seen throughout the universe. Plant life and beasts began to grow and flourish, but most exciting to the star was that of mankind. While the finer details were different than those it had seen living on other planets, they were still of flesh and blood.

As mankind developed on the three continents, they eventually became great nations; Gratz, Ciiva, and Ren'Avehn. Although the nations have had many iterations, they have not varied from those three basic forms. While they do vary in topography, generally Gratz is a heavily mountainous region with sprawling and varied coastlines, with few flat plains areas. This leaves very little area available for what is considered to be 'traditional agriculture', but has given them large deposits of minerals, as well as incredibly resilient forests that seem to both grow quickly, and resist harsher climates. Ciiva is a large land mass, and while there are sprawling mountain ranges, they are not quite as prevalent as in Gratz. Instead, Ciiva is filled with expansive woodlands, waterways, and lakes. Ren'Avehn is largely filled with flat lands with the exception of the Spire. While there are mountains, woodlands, and even dense jungle areas, most of the Ren'Avehn expanse is filled with low rising hills, wide valleys, and rolling fertile plains.
