TheEightAvatars

The Eight Avatars are the representative figures in the Runick Legends that have each completely mastered one of the Eight Elements. While one Avatar may be stronger than another in some ways, there is no one more capable with their representative element.

Each of the Avatars have played a major role in Runick history. They have been Deities, warriors, saviors, and scholars. As well as being pivotal figures in the Runick history, their souls are incredibly powerful. Many of them reappear throughout other histories, with a similar name, look and sense of being.

The Avatars

Avatar of Earth: Maxim - Commonly an orphan turned Blacksmith, Maxim is unique among the other Avatars in that his soul fills two positions in Runick history. Not only is he the Avatar of Earth, but he is also the keeper of all records. When fulfilling his role as the Librarian, he is known as Vretil, and seemingly has no known abilities within Mythicism. While they are the same person, Vretil and Maxim have been seen besides each other. This anomaly is not explained. However, as Maxim, he is a Geomancer capable of rivaling the concept of Mother Nature in power. While his demeanor is always friendly, Maxim is a quick, whimsical fighter favoring staff weaponry. Conversely, Vretil has been known to have a sharp wit and temper, and is capable of basic defensive maneuvers.

Avatar of Wind: Daelyn Morrow - A young woman and soldier, Daelyn is capable of manipulating wind so perfectly it would seem to be almost a psychic control over objects. Skilled with many forms of weaponry, she frequently arms herself with a short blade, but is just as capable as fighting hand to hand. Unlike the other Avatars, she is mostly unaware of the extent of her abilities as she was raised in an area that believed these manipulations to be some other form of ability.

Avatar of Water: Bianca D'Leviar - A nomadic young woman with a penchant for excitement, Bianca enjoys livelier scenes, but tends to stray towards cooler climates. Her abilities have many facets, and they tend to reflect her mood more than her surroundings. When happier, Bianca is more fluid in her movements, and she tends to control the flow of water, however when angry or threatened, her movements are sharp and precise, and her Mythicism takes shape in the form of ice. Bianca has experienced the least conflict of all the Avatars, in that she has almost entirely escaped the direct attention of the Dark Master, instead dealing with one of his lieutenants that was fortunately unaware of her nature.

Avatar of Fire: Devin of Ciiva - A true religious leader, Devin manages to stir faith into those around him, regardless of their beliefs. Once a member of the Ciivan High Council, he has resurfaced in history many times as a religious leader, typically one of great influence within an organized religion without being its head, such as a Cardinal, but not the Pope. At his base, Devin is a Battle Monk, unparalleled in hand to hand combat. As a Battle Monk Devin has harnessed the essence of the Fire Element, and routes it through his body to compliment his strength and speed as a hand to hand fighter. Devin is also one of the Three, making his manipulations of the Element as simple as one breathes.

Avatar of Light: Andraiel - Wise and fair minded, Andraiel is the consummate maternal figure. Previously the most respected Matriarch of the Ren'Avehn, she is frequently sought for council on issues of morality and ethics. Despite her reputation, she is still a skilled fighter, using Elemental Light to mislead and confuse her enemies though they were very few while using concentrated blades of light to incapacitate her targets. Andraiel is also one of the Three, allowing her to manipulate Light to levels that could completely reshape the perception of reality with almost no effort.

Avatar of Time: Vedic Rünheist - An incredibly skilled knight and prime patriarch of the Rünheist lineage. With his natural manipulation of Time he was nearly impossible to beat in battle. Vedic was instrumental in staving off the Dark Master, preventing him from finding the location of the Runick Star. However, after some time, he was tracked down by the Dark Master and was slain. By focusing all his ability to pause all of time at his death, his soul struck a bargain with the Runick Star. No Runick would ever truly die away from the Runick Star. They would resurrect once the method of death no longer pertained. To hold to this bargain, Vedic sacrificed his body, transferring his soul, as well as his wife's, to the Astral Plain.

Avatar of Holy: Malachai Veiderheist - The quintessential soldier, Malachai is nearly unmatched in strength and durability. Though he appears many times throughout multiple histories, he is always recognized as belonging to a long dead and cursed family line. At the base roots, he is a Paladin, a holy warrior capable of focusing the energy of the Holy Element through his body, favoring warbats like The Shattered Soul as his weapon. Malachai is also one of the Three, allowing him to control the Element without thought or focus.

Avatar of Chaos: Craft Ashalar - Born to a dead mother that had been corrupted by one of the Bin'Decht, Craft grew up amidst the death and carnage caused by the Dark Soldiers. Able to survive by manipulating Elemental Chaos to hide himself from the twisted beasts and the Dark Master, Craft's escape also isolated him from the direct influence of the Runick Star. In unintentional exile, Craft brought several constructs of Chaos Energy into being; Coal T'Bedim and the other Bedims, as well as their home Shadowtree. In his own right, Craft is a skilled fighter, favoring a mix of staff weaponry and martial arts.
