TheDarkWarsMany ages after the Three were created, a young man learned of Mythicism and saught to learn all he could. However, the only tomes available to him were of the element of Ataxia, also known as Chaos. This young man was called Aldeton, and the first spell cast sacrificed his own soul, and sealed the fate of his people. A plague was cast, systematically wiping out all the life upon his planet. Their souls were absorbed, and this was the beginning of the Dark Master. Fortunately for all other creation, there were no Legends on the planet Aldeton had destroyed by plague. His powers were limited, but using the souls he had absorbed, he traveled to another realm where he felt the touch of Mythicism. The people there were fortunately immune to the plague he had used at first to lay waste to his own people, but another method was devised. Thinking back to his childhood, he had spent a great deal of time studying battle tactics and war. He would use his power to create legions of soldiers summoned from the souls he had absorbed. Twisting them into dark creations, these Dark Soldiers were mindless legions that responded to his direct control. Using them as his tools of war, laying waste to cities. Each body that fell fighting against the dark army joined their ranks in death. This pattern was repeated over a great many realms for many ages until the Dark Master heard legends spoken of the Runick Star. Hearing of individuals with incredible power within Mythicism, he began to shift his focus to hunting them down. The Campaign of Elemental EarthIt seemed that stories of a young man with incredible knowledge of the Runick Star, Mythicism, and the ability to manipulate nature with a whim were the most prevalent. Because of this, the Dark Master thought that the enigmatic youth would be the easiest to track down. After only a few realms, the Dark Soldiers encountered a village of peaceful craftsmen, among whom was Maxim, the village blacksmith and a spiritual leader. In his early teens, the Dark Master believed it would be best to absorb his knowledge posthumously, believing that the child could not actively know much. The Dark Soldiers were beset upon the village. During the fighting, several tried to escape, but only Maxim was successful in escaping the slaughter. During his escape, Maxim's throat had been ripped open, damaging his vocal chords. Sinking into the ground to escape, the Dark Soldiers tried to dig after him, but no sign of him was found. Refusing to give up, the Dark Soldiers were ordered to investigate the surrounding areas, however they were rapidly destroyed by a small group of knights. When more Dark Soldiers were dispatched to the area, it seemed that it could no longer be reached. The Campaign of the Broken BladeAfter having been stopped by the knights, the Dark Master thought back to his studies as a child and recognized the group as The Hallowed. Believing them to be a much more valuable resource than a single child, the Dark Master began to change focus and started searching out remnant groups of legendary swordsmen. Eventually word reached their scouting parties of a growing city that was under the protection of a single knight capable of similar striking styles to The Hallowed. A small group of the Dark Soldiers were dispatched to the realm where the knight resided. Discovering Vedic within the city, they began to flood it in swarms. Believing it too important to give up, the Dark Master did not relent, but was continually defeated by Vedic and his allies. After nearly exhausting his resources, the Dark Master paused to rethink his strategy. Upon sending newly formed Dark Soldiers to the city, it was discovered that the knight was no longer present. Scouting parties continued to scour the city for information, and eventually they were able to determine that the knight had fled. It took several years to track him down once again, but once found, Aldeton felt it fitting to approach him in person. Taking two of his lieutenants, they were able to capture Vedic and his companion Tahariel entirely unaware. Disappointed, as he believed that it meant that while Vedic was skilled, he was not one of The Hallowed. Immediately ordering them executed, Vedic and Tahariel were slain before they could be made aware of his presence. |
