TaharielTaharielA spiritually strong and intellectual fighter, Tahariel's path finds her as the companion to Vedic Rünheist. Very capable with Elemental Holy techniques, she uses them in combat in equal part to her sword and bow. Before coming to know Vedic, Tahariel was one of the few to survive The Runick Conflict, and is also one of The Saints. As Tahariel never marries, her father is unknown, and her mother's place in society left them without title, Tahariel never takes on a last name. Nomadic Youth ( 3 ~ 18 )Born to a Gratzian father and Ciivan mother during the beginning stages of conflict between the nations, Tahariel was viewed as an outcast from a very young age. Without any true ties to the other children around her, Tahariel's mother decided to buy passage with the young girl on a merchant ship bound for Gratz as servants. During the slow voyage, it became evident that Tahariel had strength with Elemental Holy techniques. At the age of three she was able to rescue the ship's captain from the brink of death, and at the age of five, she had effectively become the ship's healer, keeping the crew healthy and alive. For nearly a decade, Tahariel stayed with the merchant ship, acting as their healer, training in combat with the crew when things were slow, and gathering books on healing and Holy techniques when they were in port. At the age of fourteen, the ship's captain had decided to retire from the trade and take permanent port in Gratz. Having received a sum capable of taking up a settled home for quite some time, Tahariel and her now elderly mother found permanent port in the 22nd District. Seeking to further her personal education, Tahariel entered into the Academy at age fifteen. There she received further training in combat, medicine, Mythicism and specific training towards her abilities with Holy techniques. While at the Academy she met Malachai and befriended him, along with several other students. Together with Malachai and the others, she proceeded through the classes as one of the top students, although along with the rest of Malachai's friends, she was one of the least popular. In the final testing at the Academy, the graduating students were separated in to groups for various competitions. Tahariel found herself in Malachai's team, and they very quickly realized that although the teams were numbered fairly, that the other students had every intention of leveling the odds against them. Though the competitions were intended to be one team of eight against another team of eight, there were far too many students providing opposition to their challenge. As Tahariel and one of her teammates approached the final goal of the test, they were met with lethal force. Thinking quickly, Tahariel managed to save her teammate while she neutralized the opposing student, allowing Malachai to complete the objective. Immediately the faculty intervened. While it was made clear that the administrators had no knowledge of the students plans, they also accepted that the students on Malachai's team were in imperative danger. Shortly after the graduation ceremony where Tahariel and the others were honored especially, the eight of them were offered a distinct opportunity. Knowing that it could never be safe for them within Gratz, the faculty offered them the chance to find their way elsewhere through the use of an ancient device. Initially they all declined, instead joining into the Gratzian Military, choosing to serve their country as tensions mounted instead of abandoning it. The First Exile ( 18 ~ 22 )Shortly after, all out war broke between Gratz and Ciiva. As hostilities escalated and spread, dragging Ren'Avehn into the conflict. As violence found its way to the Gratzian shores, Tahariel found herself working closely with Malachai and her other classmates. As the battle raged on, it showed no sign of slowing in any way. Eventually well placed attacks into the heart of the Gratzian command structure demoralized the soldiers so heavily, that it became an entire free-for-all global war. The small group of them attempted to maintain order, but it was a lost cause. Soon Gratzians were fighting among themselves to try and grab control for themselves. As strong as they were individually, the internal conflicts decimated the Gratzian soldiers, leaving few full groups in tact. Realizing that it was no longer safe for anyone, Malachai urged his friends to take the original offer given to them by the Academy's leadership. Reluctantly they agreed, and with the aid of the Librarian, Tahariel watched three of them be sent away before the fighting found its way to the chamber they occupied. Together with the two remaining students, Sophiel and Zadkiel, Tahariel attempted to fight off the opposition bent on taking hold of the small shrine. While the fight was mostly a victorious one, during the commotion Tahariel was incapacitated. Together Sophiel and Zadkiel placed Tahariel on the shrine and aided the Librarian in sending her away. At first the area she arrived in seemed to be very similar, though she quickly realized that the ethnic diversity was much stronger than that of her homeland. At first the area seemed peaceful, but after only a few months her new home came under attack by Dark Soldiers. She banded together with a handful of other skilled fighters; Vedic Rünheist, Vai Quistraih, and Azraith Goldenwing. Together the four of them fought off legion after legion of the easily dispatched but seemingly endless volumes of the creatures. The battles with the Dark Soldiers spanned the course of nearly four years. During this time Tahariel grew close to Vedic, and the two found a mutual respect for each other's talent in both combat and Mythicism. During the few days spanning between the various conflicts, the two spent more time together. Because of their growing relationship, when it was determined that for the safety of the city that Vedic must leave, Tahariel resolved herself to go with him. Sharing her knowledge about the shrine used for her escape from her previous homeland, the elders were able to construct one of their own, and Vedic and Tahariel were willingly exiled. The Second Exile ( 22 ~ 40 )Together the two of them found themselves in a land much like their previous home, and Tahariel's before it, though the civilization they had encountered seemed to be much less aware of the concepts of Mythicism, and were also less industrial as well. Deciding to limit their interaction with the others to simple trade they found themselves living alone in the woods, removed from almost any other social contact and soon found their friendship creating a more permanent bond. Living together in peace, soon Tahariel gave birth to the first of their five children. Noticing that Vedic's temperament seemed to change almost immediately afterwards, she confronted him about the change and used her own skills within Mythicism to determine the truth of the matter. Vedic reluctantly told her about the vision of their children finding them dead. Together, the two of them swore to train with each other and their children, passing on their knowledge of their enemy. Tahariel tried to focus the strength of her soul, hoping to pass that same energy on to her children. As they came to be, it was obvious that her goal had been a success. Each of the children were strong in a focus of Mythicism in their own right. Hawk, the first, seemed to excel with areas of Elemental Earth, Fire, and Water, while Grant, the second, was capable with Elemental Wind and Light. Fox, the middle child, seemed skilled with only Holy techniques at first, but soon showed capable of using any of the Eight Elements with some teaching. Their fourth son was capable only with the elements of Elemental Chaos and Holy, but when trying to use them separately in any way, Endether was completely incapable of using them at all. Drake, the youngest, seemed to have a great gift for Mythical manipulation, but his temper seemed to feed any of his teachings into use of Elemental Fire. Together they raised their sons to be physically, mentally, and spiritually capable. While Vedic was the more capable swordsman and a much more powerful Mythic, Tahariel was much more skilled with archery. Leaving swordplay and hand to hand combat to the boys' father, she taught them how to focus on their target, ignore distractions, but pay attention to what was important. As well, while Vedic was much more powerful with his Mythical abilities, they seemed to be second nature to him, making it almost impossible to explain how to use them. Tahariel's bond to her own soul's energy was much stronger making her a better teacher for their children. As time passed excessively slow for the family, the weather began to change as well, and they soon realized that a devastating winter lay ahead. As their supplies were low, they sent the brothers off into town to gather materials that they could not acquire on their own. While their sons were away, the two began to build a shed to store their goods for winter. During this time alone, they were ambushed. Captured in pillars of stone created by Elemental Chaos, they were trapped in place. While Tahariel was unaware of the events transpiring from Vedic's point of view, the two of them were captured and killed within seconds. After their death, they found themselves in the Astral Plain, where Vedic explained what he had done. Tahariel spent an eternity at Vedic's side, performing countless resurrections for fallen Runicks. Signature TechniquesAlthough Tahariel is not the most powerful Mythic, the strength of her soul provides her very acute control over Elemental Holy techniques. Capable of combining multiple techniques with little additional effort, she uses them to augment her own abilities in battle. To prevent fatiuge most Mythics limit their combinations to two or three at a time, but never more than four at once for risk of Soul Detonation. Below are a list of Tahariel's commonly used combinations, and the effect that the mix provided. Sacred Aim ( Substansiated Form, Binding, Sanctify ): Having performed a Binding upon her bow, Tahariel can call it to her at will in a form of pure Holy energy. As the bow has been bound to her, the energy used for the bow and its fired arrows cannot be controlled by another Mythic. The arrows shot will hit their target, unless the target moves in time. As well, because of her strength, the Holy arrows have a stronger impact and fly faster than a standard arrow. Pacifying Hold ( Barring Seal, Sacrosanct Precept ): By placing a hold on the actions of her target and then removing them from the tangible plain, Tahariel can remove the target from combat entirely until the fight has concluded. This is frequently done to capture her target and prevent an enemy from escaping, or temporarily remove a greater threat from the battle. Zealous Edge ( Borrowed Strength, Substansiated Form, Vindicating Fist ): Drawing upon the energy of her enemies souls, Tahariel focuses this Mythical strength into a sword of pure energy laced with Holy Energy. Drawing upon the energy of her own soul as well, she wields the blade with deadly strength, capable of cutting through most physical and Mythical barriers without effort. |
