22nd District

While all 7 state-kingdoms have 22 districts, a Gratzian referring specifically to the 22nd District without a qualifier is likely referring to the 22nd District under the 7th Judge. This is primarily due to the disproportionate number of historical events and leaders that have come out of this specific district.

The 22nd District is along the coastline of the Gratzian continent and is the closest point to the two other continents; Ciiva and Ren'Avehn. Because of this it is also one of the largest trade districts in the 7th court, and Gratz as a whole.

Prominent Figures

Below is a list of several of the more prominent residents of the 22nd District.

Arden Maktuhvenze: Judge of the 7th state-kingdom of Gratz, he was born and raised in the 22nd District along with the generations of the Maktuhvenze Lineage before him. Although the exact circumstances are unknown, it is known that he died at the early stages of The Runick Conflict.

Malachai Veiderheist: An orphan taken in by the Judge for the 7th state-kingdom who resided within the 22nd District, Malachai grew up in his foster father's care and followed in his footsteps, eventually becoming a Knight for the 22nd District, and eventually a Paladin.

Marcus Bindecht: A rather brash individual, Marcus was raised in the 22nd District, spending a great deal of time with more of the less distinguished citizens before entering into the Academy, fighting alongside Malachai.

Sophiel Ardaxin: Having grown up as a worker for the Maktuhvenze Lineage, Sophiel was one of Malachai's childhood friends, along with Zadkiel. As the three of them grew older, they entered the academy together where Sophiel quickly earned a reputation as a brutal fighter with a deep sense of rage.

Tahariel: Having moved into the 22nd District in her early teens, she entered into the Academy where she met Malachai and quickly became one of his close friends and allies, fighting beside him in The Runick Conflict.

Zadkiel Mahkdenor: Also one of the workers for the Maktuhvenze Lineage, Zadkiel was more sympathetic to others suffering than Sophiel and spent a great deal of time in the libraries and archives of the Academy.

Noteworthy Businesses

Last One Standing: A famous tavern in the docks of the 22nd District, it is a common gathering place for Soldiers and fighters. Constructed to resist the most extreme fights, it doubles as an arena. Nightly the denizens of the engage in heavy drinking until someone issues a challenge. This has happened in several ways. Either two friends interested in a test of skill will issue a friendly challenge, in which case they will fight alone, or an all out rumble will take place. In the cases of an all out rumble, it continues until one remains conscious. This combination of traditions is believed to be the reason for the tavern's name.
